Duty is the tariff rate for the product's HS code multiplied by the dutiable value. Rwanda assesses ad valorem duty on the CIF value: the price of the goods plus the cost of international freight and insurance to the point of entry. Import VAT is then charged at 18% on CIF + duty + member levies. Enter your HS code or a product description above to get the exact rate for your goods.
The standard rate used by the calculator is 18% (VAT), charged on CIF + duty + member levies.
There is no de minimis threshold on file for Rwanda. Duty and import taxes apply from the first unit of value.
Yes. Rwanda uses CIF valuation, so international freight and insurance are added to the price of the goods before duty is calculated. Enter them in the shipping and insurance fields above.
The calculator applies no ad valorem entry fees or statutory surcharges for Rwanda. Broker, carrier and storage charges are not included.
Duties and import taxes in Rwanda are assessed in RWF. The calculator above accepts an invoice in USD or RWF and reports the result in the invoice currency you choose.
No trade agreement covering both Germany and Rwanda is on file in the LandedFees trade agreement database, so the calculator uses the standard (MFN) rate. Additional duties that depend on origin are applied where the tariff data has them.
