LandedFees.com is a free tool that helps importers calculate duties, taxes, and total landed cost. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and what we do (and don’t do) with it.

What we collect

When you calculate landed cost anonymously we do not collect anything that identifies you personally. When you sign in with an email address we collect and store the following:

Your email address, name, and optional mobile number.
The commercial invoices you upload and the calculations we generate from them. These are attached to your account so you can retrieve them later.
Aggregate usage signals (page views, feature clicks) via Google Analytics and PostHog. These are used to understand which parts of the product to improve.
Standard server logs (IP address, browser, timestamp) kept for up to 30 days for abuse prevention and debugging.

What we do with it

Provide the calculator, HS classifier, dashboards, and any other features you use.
Send transactional email: login codes, calculation receipts, and account notifications. We do not send marketing email.
Diagnose bugs and monitor infrastructure health via anonymised error logs.

What we do not do

We do not sell your data to third parties.
We do not share the contents of your invoices or calculations with anyone outside our processing infrastructure.
We do not use your uploaded invoices to train third-party AI models. Invoices are processed via Anthropic Claude for line-item extraction and HS classification with zero-retention on the provider side (Anthropic’s policy for API traffic).

Sub-processors

We rely on the following vendors to run the service. Each processes your data only as instructed and under their own security posture:

Vercel— application hosting and edge network.
Supabase— database, storage for uploaded invoices, and authentication back-end.
Resend— transactional email delivery (login codes, receipts).
Anthropic— Claude API for invoice line extraction and HS classification.
Google Analytics 4 & PostHog — aggregate usage analytics.
Sentry— error monitoring (when a client or server error occurs, we log the stack trace and route info).

Retention

Account data, uploaded invoices, and calculations are retained for the life of your account. Server logs are retained for 30 days. You can request deletion of your account and everything tied to it by emailing hello@landedfees.com from the address on your account. We process deletion requests within seven business days.

Cookies

We use one first-party session cookie (lc_session) to keep you signed in. Analytics cookies from Google Analytics and PostHog are set when you use the site; you can block them via your browser or an extension without affecting the calculator.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under GDPR (EU + UK), CCPA (California), or India’s DPDP Act to access, correct, export, or delete the personal data we hold about you. Email hello@landedfees.com and we will respond within the time limit your local law requires.

Changes to this policy

When we make material changes we update the “Last updated” date at the top and, for logged-in users, send an email to the address on file.
