Upload a Mexican Pedimento
Drop a Mexican Pedimento into the audit engine. The parser reads the header, every partida, and reconciles duty and IVA against the Ley de los Impuestos Generales de Importación y Exportación.
Upload a Mexican Pedimento
The Pedimento is the Mexican import (or export) declaration filed with the Servicio de Administración Tributaria (SAT). LandedFees parses the standard printed Pedimento and the digital SAT-signed XML, and re-computes duty (arancel), IVA (Impuesto al Valor Agregado), DTA (Derecho de Trámite Aduanero), and any prevalent overlay against the Ley de los Impuestos Generales de Importación y Exportación (LIGIE).
USMCA and the pre-existing NAFTA claims are the most common preference lanes. Mexico's post-clearance rectification path runs through a rectificación de pedimento or a solicitud de devolución.
How to upload a Pedimento
- Open the audit page.
- Drag the Pedimento PDF or the SAT digital signature XML into the dropzone.
- The parser reads the encabezado (importador, agente aduanal, aduana de entrada, tipo de operación), and every partida: fracción arancelaria (8-digit HS + NICO extension), país de origen, país de venta, valor factura, valor aduana, cantidad UMC, cantidad UMT, tasa arancel, IVA, DTA.
- Confirm the extracted fracciones. LIGIE codes change frequently; the parser validates against the current SAT extract.
- Add USMCA or CPTPP certification references where applicable.
- Click Audit. The engine compares filed arancel, IVA, DTA, and any specific overlays (Prevalidación fees, IEPS on excise goods) against LIGIE.
Mexico's amendment path is a rectificación de pedimento filed through SAT's window, with additional refund pathways under Ley Aduanera Art. 89 and 122.
What the parser reads
Encabezado: número de pedimento, tipo (A1, C1, F4, others), aduana, RFC importador, agente aduanal (patente), medio de transporte, país origen, país compra, INCOTERM. Partidas: fracción arancelaria, NICO, país de origen, país de venta, unidad UMC, unidad UMT, valor factura MXN, valor en aduana, tasa DTA, tasa arancel, IVA, monto IVA.
The parser identifies IMMEX or PROSEC programme markers where the importer is enrolled, since these affect the duty base.
Refund path
Rectificación de pedimento is filed through SAT within the statutory window. IVA overpayment refunds run through Devolución de saldo a favor. The finding memo prepared by the engine includes the correct SAT form references and reason codes.

Frequently asked questions
Does the engine read SAT XML digital signatures
Yes. The signed XML is the highest-confidence input because every field is structured. Confidence badges rarely appear on XML uploads.
What if the Pedimento is a T3 transit or an F4 return
Duty is not owed on transit or on returns of previously-exported goods. The engine skips duty computation and audits for procedural errors only.
Are IMMEX and PROSEC entries handled
Yes. Both programmes are recognised, and the engine treats the reduced duty base accordingly.
What is the Mexican amendment window
Rectificaciones run through the SAT window and Ley Aduanera Art. 89. Specific refund lanes (like IVA saldo a favor) have their own SAT windows that the memo cites correctly.

Reading audit findings and picking an amendment lane
Every audit finding routes to one of four US amendment lanes: PSC (300 days), 1520(d) reconciliation (1 year), 19 CFR 174 protest (180 days post-liquidation), or duty drawback (5 years). Here is how to choose.
