Brunciak World Gen LLC 120 Route 17 North Paramus, NJ 07652 RE: The tariff classification of Magnesium Sulfate in Water for Injection, USP, from Switzerland Dear Ms. Brunciak: In your letter dated October 20, 2020, you requested a tariff classification ruling. Magnesium Sulfate in Water for Injection, imported in 40 mg/50 ml intravenous bags, is an anticonvulsant. It is indicated for the prevention and control of seizures in preeclampsia and eclampsia, respectively. The applicable subheading for the Magnesium Sulfate in Water for Injection in dosage form will be 3004.90.9230, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for “Medicaments … consisting of mixed or unmixed products for therapeutic or prophylactic uses, put up in measured doses … or in forms or packings for retail sale: Other: Other: Other: Medicaments primarily affecting the central nervous system: Anticonvulsants, hypnotics and sedatives.” The rate of duty will be free. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
