Run your first landed-cost calculation
Fill the shipment form, get a duty plus VAT plus freight breakdown with cited sources, and save the result to your workspace.
Run your first landed-cost calculation
A LandedFees calculation returns a full landed-cost breakdown for one shipment: duty, VAT, brokerage, freight, insurance, and every applicable Section 232, 301, 122, or AD/CVD overlay. Every number cites its primary source, so the output is defensible in front of a customs broker or a finance auditor.
Your first calculation takes about sixty seconds. You need an HS code (or a product description we can classify), an origin country, a destination country, and a commercial value.
How to run your first calculation
- Open the calculator from the dashboard or from the top navigation.
- Choose an origin country from the dropdown.
- Choose a destination country from the dropdown.
- Enter an HS code or type a product description and let the semantic HS lookup propose one.
- Enter a commercial value in the source currency, plus quantity and unit.
- Enter freight and insurance if you have them. Skip if you want the freight estimator to fill them in.
- Click Calculate. The CostLayer breakdown renders below the form with every duty, fee, and tax cited to its primary source.
The full result is saved to your workspace as a calculation object, retrievable from the dashboard for the life of your account.
What the output shows
The breakdown groups every charge into layers: statutory duty, Chapter 99 overlays such as Section 232 or Section 301, safeguard measures, AD/CVD, VAT or GST, brokerage fees, freight, and insurance. Each row cites the underlying rule (for example US HTSUS 9903.01.24 or EU Reg. 2023/1773 Annex III).
Total landed cost is the sum. The effective duty percentage is shown separately so you can compare lanes at a glance.
Save and share
Every calculation has a unique URL. Copy it from the address bar to share with your broker or freight forwarder. Anyone with the URL can view the calculation. To share with a specific person only, use the share menu from the saved calculation view.
Frequently asked questions
What if I do not know the HS code
Type a plain-English product description in the HS field. The semantic HS lookup, backed by the same taxonomy that drives our HTS lookup, returns three ranked candidates with confidence scores.
Does the calculator work for lanes outside the United States
Yes. The calculator supports 220+ jurisdictions with the current 2026 statutory rates. Coverage is documented on the coverage page.
Are the numbers estimates or authoritative
The duty and tax lines are computed from the current published statutory tariff schedule for the destination country. Freight and insurance are estimates unless you enter your own quotes.
Can I run more than one calculation on Free
Yes. The Free tier does not cap calculations. It only caps audits (three lifetime) and blocks bulk uploads, API access, and broker workspace.
