Product tour: the four pillars
LandedFees is built on four pillars: Calculate, Audit, Research, and Broker workspace. Here is what each one is for and how they fit together.
Product tour: the four pillars
LandedFees is organised around four pillars. Calculate forecasts a landed cost before you ship. Audit re-checks entries after they clear. Research covers HTS lookup, CROSS rulings, and tariff-change alerts. Broker workspace is where you and your customs broker share findings and file corrections together. Every pillar shares the same underlying tariff and ruling data.
The product is broker-neutral: nothing about the product locks you to a specific customs broker, and the audit engine never files with customs on your behalf. Everything the engine produces is a memo you or your existing broker submits.
Pillar one: Calculate
The calculator returns a full landed-cost breakdown for one shipment in about a minute. You get statutory duty, Chapter 99 overlays, VAT or GST, MPF and other national fees, brokerage, freight, and insurance in one view. Every row cites its primary source. Bulk CSV upload is available on Pro and above.
Pillar two: Audit
The audit engine parses filed entries (CBP 7501, EU SAD, UK CDS, CBSA B3, Mexican Pedimento) and re-computes what the duty stack should have been. Findings surface with a recommended amendment lane and a dollar-impact estimate. Runs on Free (three lifetime), Pro (200 lines per month), Growth (2,000 lines per month), and Business tiers.
Pillar three: Research
Research surfaces are read-first. HTS code lookup searches the US HTSUS and the harmonised HS-6 across 220+ jurisdictions. /rulings exposes the CBP CROSS ruling corpus with citation-quality summaries. /regulations tracks pending tariff and rule changes so you can subscribe to alerts on codes you care about.
Pillar four: Broker workspace
The broker workspace lives inside the dashboard. Invite your customs broker as an org member, share individual findings for review, generate a Post-Summary Correction memo PDF, or run a 1520(d) reconciliation batch. Broker scorecards auto-populate from your uploaded entries so you can compare filings across brokers. Requires the Growth tier or higher.
How the pillars fit together
The typical flow is: research an HS code, calculate a landed cost, ship, upload the filed entry back for audit, share findings with your broker, and file the correction. Every pillar reads and writes from the same workspace, so an HS code you picked in Research shows up in the calculator, and an audit finding routes through to the broker workspace.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to use all four pillars
No. Many customers use only the calculator, or only the audit engine. The pillars share data but function independently.
Which pillars work on Free
Calculate is unlimited. Audit is capped at three lifetime runs. Research is fully open. Broker workspace requires Growth or higher.
Is there a mobile app
No. LandedFees is a browser-first web app. Every page works on mobile Safari and Chrome, but the calculator and audit engine are optimised for desktop.
Where do the tariff numbers come from
Primary sources only. US rates come from the official HTSUS revisions, EU rates from TARIC, UK rates from CDS, and so on. Every citation on a finding or a calculation links to the underlying source.
