Subscribing to tariff-change alerts
Set an alert on a specific HTSUS code, a chapter, or a country tariff regime. Get an email when the rate changes, a CBP CSMS lands, or a new ruling publishes.
Subscribing to tariff-change alerts
The regulations page shows pending and recent tariff changes. Subscribe to alerts on the specific codes, chapters, or country regimes you care about, and you get an email the moment the rate moves. Fine-grained on HTSUS codes, coarse-grained on chapter or country. Useful when a Section 232 or 301 change might upend your landed cost.
Alerts run off the same feed the calculator and audit engine consume, so the moment a new rate is live in the product, subscribers are notified.
How to subscribe to alerts
- Open /regulations.
- Search for the code, chapter, or regime you care about. Example:
9903.01.24for a specific Chapter 99 line, orSection 232 steelfor the whole regime. - Click Subscribe on the result. Confirm the email address you want notifications on.
- Choose the notification cadence: instant (real-time on change), daily digest, or weekly digest.
- Save the subscription. It appears in your Notification preferences at /dashboard/notifications.
- To unsubscribe, open the same page and toggle the alert off, or click the unsubscribe link in any email.
Multiple subscriptions are supported. Common combinations: a chapter alert plus every Chapter 99 overlay that hits that chapter.
What triggers an alert
Rate change (statutory duty, safeguard, or Chapter 99 overlay). New CBP CSMS message affecting the code. New CROSS ruling on the code. New AD/CVD scope determination that pulls the code in or pushes it out.
Alerts include the citation and a one-paragraph summary. The full text is one click away.
Digest vs instant
Instant is the right choice for high-volatility regimes (Section 232 pharma, IEEPA additions, forced-labor tier moves). Daily or weekly digests are the right choice for stable regimes where you just want a heads-up.
Frequently asked questions
Are alerts a paid feature
No. Alerts work on Free tier. There is no cap on the number of subscriptions per account.
Can I get alerts by webhook rather than email
Yes, via Slack or the generic outbound webhook. Add an integration and route notifications to it.
How quickly do alerts fire after a change
Ingest runs on the same schedule as the calculator's rate database. In practice, instant alerts fire within an hour of the primary source publishing the change.
What sources power the alerts
CBP CSMS, US Federal Register, TARIC, HMRC CDS rate changes, CBSA T2000, SAT (Mexico), and the primary source of every jurisdiction on /coverage.
